HYPRASTRIP B604 is a high-performance paint stripper specifically formulated for hot-dip stripping of ferrous substrates (steel/iron). Its powerful alkaline composition enables the removal of thick, multi-layered or highly resistant coatings, even in the most challenging stripping conditions. Thanks to its deep-acting properties, this dip stripper is an ideal solution for preparing ferrous metal surfaces ahead of new treatments or coatings.
This product is not suitable for light alloys such as aluminium, zinc or copper.
SCALPEX® A1 is a hot-bath paint stripper and heavy-duty descaler specifically formulated for treating steel and cast iron components. This immersion stripper is highly effective at removing paint, metal oxides and combustion residues from metal parts. It provides a complete cleaning and restoration solution for metallic surfaces, while remaining safe for use on steel, refractory steels and cast iron.
It must not be used on aluminium, copper or zinc alloys.
DECAPEINT is an immersion paint stripper specifically designed for the removal of uncured paint from wood and ferrous metals. Applied in a heated bath (20–40°C), this highly effective stripper is ideal for stripping alkyd (or glycerophthalic), vinyl, acrylic paints, and primers. Its dipping application ensures thorough, in-depth action while preserving the integrity of the treated surfaces.
Used exclusively by dilution in water within a suitable heated tank.
SCALPIK® L 400 is a professional liquid paint stripper for use in hot-bath immersion. Specially formulated to remove paint and varnish from ferrous and non-ferrous metals, it is ideal for metal and aluminum surfaces. Its innovative DCM-Free formula provides a safer, high-performance alternative to traditional strippers. SCALPIK® L 400 effectively removes epoxy, polyester, acrylic, vinyl, and electro-coatings (e.g., Cataphoresis), as well as a wide range of varnishes and uncured paints.
SCALPIK® DP 283 NG is a high-performance liquid paint stripper designed for hot-bath immersion. This versatile product effectively removes a wide range of coatings, including epoxy, epoxy-polyester, polyester, alkyd (glycerophthalic), vinyl, acrylic, and silicone cataphoretic paints. Its formulation, based on low-volatility biodegradable solvents, delivers powerful stripping while minimising health and environmental risks. SCALPIK® DP 283 NG dissolves resins and disperses paint pigments for thorough, in-depth cleaning. The product is ready-to-use and requires no dilution.
What is hot bath stripping ?
In industrial settings, components can be stripped using a heated stripping bath, where the solution is maintained at a controlled temperature. This technique accelerates the stripping process by increasing the chemical activity of the product, making it easier to remove coatings such as paints, varnishes, lacquers, adhesives and more from a variety of metal substrates, as well as certain engineered wood products.
What are the advantages of this stripping method ?
Using a heated stripping bath offers several key benefits:
- Faster stripping: Heat enhances the chemical reactivity of the solution, allowing unwanted coatings to be removed more rapidly.
- Improved productivity: Shorter dwell times streamline the stripping process and help increase overall production capacity (or line throughput).
- Superior stripping quality: When used with suitable products—such as SCALPIK L400 or DÉCAPEINT—this method helps achieve cleaner, more thorough removal of paints, varnishes, adhesives and similar coatings.
- Versatility: The temperature of the bath can be adjusted to accommodate different substrates, making the process adaptable to a wide range of materials.
What types of parts can be stripped in a heated bath ?
Heated bath stripping is suitable for a wide variety of components, particularly metal parts including:
- Steel
- Aluminium
- Cast iron
- Copper and their alloys
This includes industrial components, mechanical parts, tools, automotive parts, machine elements and more.
Certain wooden parts can also be treated in a heated bath, provided they are compatible with the stripping product. For example, SCALPEX A1 is specifically formulated for stripping wood substrates safely and effectively.
