Additives - Activators

Additive for pickling bath

ADDITIF STRIPAC BASE ECO is a concentrated alkaline gas pedal for immersion paint stripping using the STRIPAC method. Designed to reinforce the action of stripping baths, this professional additive effectively removes a wide range of industrial paints: epoxy polyester, glycerophthalic, vinyl, acrylic, woodstains, varnishes, primers, etc. Its action consists of dissolving resins and denaturing pigments.

Its action consists in dissolving the resins and denaturing the mineral pigments present in the paint film. Once destructured, this film is easily removed by rinsing with water, immersion or high-pressure cleaning. Its substrate-friendly formulation ensures maximum effectiveness without attacking substrates such as steel or wood.

Additif bain de décapage SCALPIK L12S

SCALPIK L12S ACTIVATOR is a technical additive designed for use as a complement to a SCALPIK L12S-based pickling bath. This product has no stripping power of its own, but is formulated to restore the efficiency of the stripping bath when it begins to lose performance.
In fact, chlorinated paint strippers like SCALPIK L12S are subject to evaporation during use, notably due to frequency of use, bath temperature or air contact surface. SCALPIK L12S ACTIVATOR compensates for this loss of power by restoring the bath’s properties

What Is a stripping bath additive or activator ?
Additives and activators are chemical solutions added to a stripping bath to enhance its performance. These substances improve wetting, dispersion, and coating removal, allowing the stripper to penetrate the substrate more effectively. Additives and activators play a crucial role in optimising the efficiency of the chemical bath or stripping solution, ensuring that all parts are thoroughly cleaned and treated.

Why use an additive in a stripping bath ?
Using additives in a stripping bath offers several key benefits:

  • Improved performance: Additives enhance the bath’s ability to remove unwanted coatings, increasing overall efficiency.
  • Protection of metal parts: Many additives act as anti-corrosion agents, helping to preserve the structure of the parts and minimise base metal attack.
  • Reduced risk of damage: Additives can help control the pH or temperature of the bath, reducing the risk of deformation or other damage during the stripping process.

Why use an activator in a stripping bath ?
Activators provide additional advantages in a stripping bath:

  • Faster stripping: Activators stimulate the chemical reaction between the bath and the coated parts, reducing the time needed to remove unwanted layers.
  • Enhanced efficiency: By improving the overall effectiveness of the bath, activators ensure a more consistent and reliable stripping process.
